I chose this because it is interesting how the small and big balls are separated by space allowing them to be more different.

Here is a billboard that shows a tight grid that blocks off the different information.

My favorite was #1 entitled "From Paper to Screen." This was my favorite because it showed how something simple like typography can be put in motion in something like a cinema.

Favorite Logo

The simple two colors in the logo help to create a contrast that help bring out the logo. The loose grid of the logo helps to organize the logo and keep it simple.

Poster

This is a unique poster I found online. It is made up of only words and the words make up a rectangle. The words are composed with 3 or 4 shades of color that really catches the eye on the black background.

Chris Bangle

Chris Bangle talked about how cars have faces. People associate the front of cars with human faces and that is what they see in the design. Also, he said people are starting to pay attention more to the back of cars so the design of the trunks of cars are evolving.

Gestalt Principals found on Mercer's Campus

We use paper everyday and we usually do not pay attention to the details of it. When I had to find Gestalt principals on Mercer's campus, a piece of paper was the perfect thing. The lines on the piece of paper represent continuation and repetition. Also, someone could say that the lines are part of the Gestalt principal of proximity.

Repetition of Form in Advertisement

In this Coca-Cola Advertisement for the Olympics, they use repetition of form. Here they use five of their bottles beside each other with the same colors on the bottle. This repetition demonstrates the unity in the advertisement which helps the viewers to better remember the advertisement.

This uses the Gestalt principle of repetition.

Nature Inspired Design

This bicycle was designed after a praying mantis. When you look at this bike, you automatically associate the bike with the praying mantis. The praying mantis is a majestic creature that is slick and full of beauty. The creator of this bike wanted to convey that slickness and beauty in his bike so he modeled it after the praying mantis.

Blog #1

This advertisement from Burger King is a good example of design. The visual organizations is a masterpiece in this picture. They wanted the picture to make you crave their hamburgers. By implementing the words to make up the shape of the hamburger, it makes the viewer think about the hamburger even more. The words are read by the viewer and they are automatically associated with the picture of the Burger King hamburger. The content is straightforward allowing the viewer to clearly understand the reason for the advertisement. The form is so creative, it will help the viewer to easily remember the advertisement which is the main goal of Burger King. There is no lack of communication in this picture which makes it such a quality example of design.
